I often ask myself that same question. Then I realize that Americans elected a president from the political party who started a civil war to keep their slaves and whose members founded the KKK. The party that fought against every piece of civil rights legislation presented. Have wasted billions and billions of dollars on their "war on poverty" and the percentage of people in poverty remains the same. And people still fall for their lies. So I also wonder; how can Americans be so ignorant?
