Description

I recently took in this wonderful Basset, Lab, German shorthair mix named Hershey. I really thought I was going to be a good fit for him but now that he's here I see all the issues he's having in my home specifically. He is having trouble with my apartment stairs, he can do quite a few stairs but the two flights is too much for him multiple times a day. He also is doing very well with my cat, but my cat on the other hand isn't doing as well. This, along with a few other things makes me feel like rehoming him would be the responsible thing to do. Hershey was rescued from a home where they had him chained up outside and would do things such as beat him with a shovel, so he has a bit of scarring above his eye, and is a little timid towards new people but not aggressive whatsoever. Overall he is a sweet and wonderful dog, he'll cuddle with you at night, and loves belly rubs and ice cubes. He walks wonderfully and honestly you could walk him without a leash even! He got a little bit scared with me once when I first got him, but besides that, he has not had any moments where he acts out in any way. I have not had him growl, or even try to nip at me or my cat. Hershey is 3 years old, fixed, up to date on his shots, recently got a bath as well as got his nails trimmed. I'm not asking for any kind of rehoming fee, I just want him to go somewhere he'll be loved and thrive. Please call or text me if you are interested, I most likely won't answer calls between 1-11pm, so text might be better. He'll come with a big bag of food I just got, food and water dishes, treats, a leash and collar, and a couple toys I bought for him. Thank you.
