Active dog needs foster home for month of August

Laika is around 7 years old but could be as old as nine. You would never know because she has the energy and stamina of a puppy or young adult. She originally was kept strictly outdoors and used to hunt rabbits. She's originally from Fall River MA and before that she came from the Azores! She was originally kept outdoors her whole life but has done really well with house training and doesn't have any accidents in the home. She learned how to walk nicely on an easy walk harness and walks right next to you. Without an easy walk harness, she does pull a bit. She is a great running partner and runs right next to you with as much stamina as you need! She could never be off leash and would always need to be on a leash outdoors or in a very secure fenced in yard and watched to be sure she can't escape! She is spayed and utd on everything, even a recent dental cleaning. She loves other dogs, she is great with all dogs at the dog park. She loves the water and ideally had a small dog pool or visited water here and there because she really does love it! She will very willingly get into a kayak or paddleboard and her favorite thing is going into water to cool off after a game of fetch. When playing fetch you do need to make sure she is away from you before grabbing another toy to throw because she is FAST and will accidentally mouth/snap at your hand when she means to go after the toy. This would be the only reason that I wouldn't suggest her around children because I can see her taking their toys and then guarding the toys. I'm not sure how she would be with cats or rabbits, I think she would chase them and could potentially hurt them. She is excellent with meeting new people, kids and dogs. She would ideally do well in a home with another dog or someone who is home a lot because if she is bored in the home and hasn't had exercise, I think she would be destructive and chew. When she gets exercise and stimulation, she is very content to relax.
