Located in beautiful downtown Charleston, the Children’s Museum of Lowcountry is a non-profit children’s museum dedicated to engaging young children’s potential through experiences that spark imaginations and stimulate curiosity using the power of PLAY. The Assistant Floor Manager will be a key member of the operations team. The ASF will work closely with the Visitor and Programs Coordinator and the entire Visitor Services team to serve constituents on-site at the museum. The Assistant Floor Manager will employ retail and customer service skills to help us create a welcome, efficient, clean, and safe environment for everyone at the museum. This on-site role requires: • Retail and cash handling experience • Comfort with the public both in-person and on the phone • Ability to assist in cleaning, maintenance, and organization of the facility throughout your shift • Problem-solving and collaboration skills • Supervisory skills • Experience with ordering/inventory desired The Children’s Museum is a small staff organization made smaller by the COVID-19 pandemic but still serving thousands of children, their caregivers, and educators. All team members can be expect to be part of this work from time to time and should have a high comfort level being around small children. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance is required. The Assistant Floor Manager will report to the Visitor and Programs Coordinator. Work Hours: The Assistant Floor Manager role is a part-time position averaging 20-25 hrs. weekly and is aligned with the museum’s open hours, which are currently Thursday – Sunday until 5pm. Evening work is expected occasionally, based on the needs of the organization.
