The position is responsible for managing a Childcare Center to ensure a safe and developmentally appropriate environment for children in accordance with relevant Federal and state regulations. Essential Duties, Functions, and ResponsibilitiesTasks are as follows, but not limited to: 1. Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program. 2. Manage and develop childcare staff including hiring, training, discipline, and scheduling 3. Must be familiar with childcare licensing requirements. 4. Oversee food program ensuring nutritious snacks and meals that meet the requirements. 5. Ensures equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained, and safe at all times. 6. Provides weekly and monthly schedule of activities. 7. Maintain records with up-to-date documents in accordance with licensing regulations. 8. Develop culturally appropriate programs and activities. 9. Follows established policies and procedures including acceptable disciplinary policies. 10. Cooperate with licensing staff and other appropriate agencies in maintaining compliance with requirements and in improving the quality of care. 11. Responsible for assessment and constant supervision of children at all times to ensure safety. 12. Conduct parent/teacher conferences, staff meetings, attend director’s meetings, and attend training conferences or professional organizations appropriate for childcare centers. 13. Keep all client information confidential. Minimum Mandatory QualificationsEducation and Experience: High School Diploma or GED and five years’ experience in a childcare facility or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related and two years’ experience in a child care facility. Possess the Oklahoma Director’s Credential or ability to obtain the credential. Strong interpersonal skills, multitasking ability, and time management skills. Additional Qualifications: · Ability to do the work of the position with or without direct supervision. · Must be able to read and write. · Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Position Qualification PreferencesBachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field. · Must be willing to adhere to all professional and ethical behavior standards, must be compliant with the personnel policies. · Interact in an honest, trustworthy, and dependable manner with co-workers/clients. · Work independently and as a team member; consistently demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, efficiency, excellent internal and external customer service, high ethical standards and behavior that contribute to harmonious relationships.
