This puppy was picked up as a stray in Wake Forest, NC on July 13th which is why the post location and zip code above is in Wake Forest. We are so hoping someone out there is missing him and we know the best chance of having this seen by the right people is to post in the area he was picked up. However he is now being fostered near GARNER, NC. Please contact me with any info that may help us reunite him with his family, if he has one! He's been sweet so far, loves people and especially children. Interested in the other dogs but he's also nervous around them. He barks at and follows the cats sometimes trying to get them to play, otherwise he has no problem ignoring them. He does guard food, but hasn't shown any other unfriendly behavior and is actually very submissive. On the other hand, he doesn't seem to understand how to politely seek attention so it's something we'll be working on. He's been to the vet and didn't have a microchip, no collar or tags, and based on behaviors probably hasn't been in a home for some time, if ever. He's now been microchipped, up to date on routine care, dewormed, and just finished a round of preventative antibiotics. He's otherwise healthy and will be neutered after gaining weight. He begins professional home manners and socialization training on Monday. If no one comes forward for him, he will be available for adoption hopefully around the end of August, but we won't rush and won't place him until we're certain he's ready!
