The purpose of this study is to examine how female hormones influence the effects of alcohol on mood and behavior. The study involves ten visits to the Happy Lab located at 1601 W Taylor Street (UIC Psychiatric Institute building, Suite 318). The total time commitment for the study is approximately 30 hours and you will be compensated $420 for your participation.
The first visit, lasting 1 hour, will be an enrollment session where you will read and sign the consent form, and practice the measures to be collected during the testing session. Visits 2-9 are testing sessions lasting from 2 to 4 hours each. During these sessions, we’ll give you a beverage to consume that may or may not contain alcohol. During the sessions, you will also complete questionnaires and computer tasks. The final visit, lasting 30 minutes, is a debriefing session at which you will receive payment.
