Job Summary: The Janitor/Handyperson will clean, sanitize, and maintain the interior and exterior of the building. Job Type: Full-time Salary: $14.00 to $15.00 per hour Supervisory Responsibilities: • None Duties/Responsibilities: • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. • Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties and services throughout the property. • Cleans, disinfects and restocking restrooms. • Cleans and disinfects kitchen and dining areas. • Wipes and dusts surfaces throughout interior of the building. • Washing windows, interior and exterior. • Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes. • Picks up and empties trash containers from interior and exterior of building. • Loads washers and dryers and folds towels in laundry room as needed. • Perform a variety of tasks to repair and maintain interior and exterior of building. • Performs minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes, cleaning air vents, etc. • Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and materials. • Performs grounds maintenance such as care and maintenance of plants and trees, and cleaning debris from sidewalks, etc. • Examines interior and exterior of property for safety hazards and repairs needed, reports deficiencies to Hospital Director. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Detail-oriented and thorough. • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of patients and clients. • Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously. • Ability to perform a variety of maintenance or repair tasks. • Ability to communicate clearly with Hospital Director and leadership team. • Ability to use a variety of tools correctly and safely as needed to complete projects. • Understanding of basic building practices and procedures. • Understanding of basic systems within buildings, such as electrical or plumbing. • Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions. • Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance. • Ability to keep the hospital and orderly. • Ability to interact with staff while remaining professional, polite, and courteous. Education and Experience: • High school diploma/GED not required • 1-year janitorial experience preferred Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending. • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds at times. • Must be able to crawl and work in cramped spaces, climb, bend, stretch, stand, and traverse all areas of the building. • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
