Painter Apprentice Three Crowns Inc. is a well established Construction, Remodeling, Painting and Handyman Company in Sequim. We are looking for a “Painter Apprentice” to join our team. Our Painters work both indoors and outdoors in a variety of work environments. Our teams work on residential homes and commercial buildings. Do you have an interest and what it takes? Painting is a physically demanding job that requires extensive standing, climbing, lifting, bending, kneeling and reaching. A painter’s work environment may include exposure to extreme height, various weather conditions and uncomfortable positions. Apprentice Painter duties: ● Assist journeyman painters in painting preparation, pressure washing, moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project. ● Preparing and cleaning surfaces ● Removing old wallpaper and paint ● Repairing cracks and holes in walls ● Masking and taping off areas as needed ● Preparing the surrounding areas by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes ● Handling prep work in an efficient manner ● Removing and installing fixtures such as door knobs and light switch covers ● Cleaning up supplies, tools and work areas ● Mixing, matching, and applying paints and finishes to various surfaces ● Helping within other departments of Three Crowns with labor needs Ability to: ● Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely ● Perform heavy physical labor ● Climb ladders and scaffold (Must not be afraid of heights) ● Move and utilize up to a 28’ extension ladder alone for entire work shift (including all sizes of extension and step-type ladders less than 28’) ● Gain access to roofs when necessary ● Erect and work on rolling scaffold for entire work shift ● Able to carry full 5 gallon container of paint or equivalent weight on stairs ● Wear & use respirators ● Bend and reach while preparing and painting surfaces for the entire work shift. ● Follow Instructions ● Work Safely ● Learn Quickly ● Maintain cooperative working relationships ● Wanting to learn and become a journeyman painter To become part of Our Team you must possess the following traits: ● Timely and tidy ● Good communication skills ● Customer Service minded ● A self-starter ● Goal oriented ● A Team Player ● A valid driver's license ● High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
