Description
We adopted 2 female rats 2 months ago only to find out later that one of them was already pregnant. We were surprised with 8 babies. At their current age of 6 weeks, they have fully weened off Mom, and have had the time they needed with her to properly socially develop.
We are looking for great homes for our babies and are asking for a rehoming fee of $25 each. We will only be adopting them out in sets of 2 minimum (same gender) as they get extremely depressed when they are housed alone. We are not willing to mix genders as they WILL breed which comes with a lot of responsibility--not only to the individual rats but to the population as a whole.
I made a pamphlet of information regarding rat care (a lot of information in pet stores is inaccurate and can be harmful) to get you started on your journey. Included with this, we will send a small bag of their current food (oxbow lab blocks) which can get you through until you can buy some of your own, or enough to rotate into a new brand. I would still highly recommend lab blocks if you do switch the food as they offer complete nutrition that the rats can't pick through-- avoiding as well as over eating on specific nutrients.
Females tend to be more active and playful, while males tend to be more mellow and snuggly. Both genders make great pets and are young enough to bond extremely well with you with enough attention. They are all a little skittish right now as it's hard to give enough attention to 10 rats in a day, but they will warm up very quickly as you spend more time with them.
The babies are so excited to meet you and find their forever home! Please send me a text or email to schedule a time!
