If you see a stray animal, don't try to save it unless you want to keep that animal. I made the mistake of trying to help a lost dog, the owner isn't looking for him, the humane society apparently doesn't do strays, animal control doesn't call back, and you will have no way to get rid of the animal if it's not chipped. I have dogs and a cat where I live, so I can't take on another animal. Now I either drop the dog where I found him (not an actual option for me), try to give him away, or just leave him somewhere where I know he'd be taken care of. But then that could cause some serious emotional damage to a very good dog!! I'll NEVER help a lost animal again. That actually makes me very sad.😭
