Description
The Pool Attendant/Maintenance employee is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean aquatic recreational area for residents. NOTE: THIS POSITION IS A PART-TIME POSITION HAVING 20-25 HOURS PER WEEK. THE WORKING HOURS WILL VARY ACCORDING TO SEASONAL SCHEDULE CHANGES, VACATION, MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE CHANGES, AND STAFFING NEEDS. Essential Job Duties: -Follow daily pool operations checklist including opening, mid-day and closing jobs as appropriate for scheduled shift. -Know and follow Lee County Health Board Regulations. -Know and follow Lee County & Gateway Rules and regulations pertaining to the pool use. -Operate and maintain the Commons Pool gate access. Access and verify resident’s status from Lee County Property Appraisers Office Website. -Maintain daily records for patronage admissions, sanitary water conditions (Chlorine & pH readings), accidents and first aid. Adjust chemicals as needed. -Ensure restrooms, pool deck, pump house and pool filters are kept clean -Ensure all District equipment and property is operational and maintained in safe condition. (Pool, deck, furniture, other items within Commons Pool area). Repair/correct as needed and report any unresolved issues to Pool Supervisor. -Ensure Emergency services and equipment are available. -CPO (Certified Pool & Spa Operator) certified or AFO (Aquatic Facility Operator) Florida pool license desired but not required. -Perform additional work as assigned. Ability to: -Work independently within the guidelines and standards. -Work cooperatively with District team members and public. -Produce written documents in the English language using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar. -Work weekends, varied shifts and odd hours as needed. -Lifting or moving heavy objects (30 pounds or more) short distances (20 feet or less). -Bend or stoop repeatedly or continually. Education and Experience Requirements: -Must be at least 18 years of age -High school diploma or equivalent required. -Four years of progressively responsible related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities desired but not required. THIS JOB DOES NOT REQUIRE LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION OR FIRST AID CERTIFICATION. IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY THE EMPLOYEE IS INSTRUCTED TO CALL 911. EMPLOYEE MAY DISPENSE BAND AIDS, STING RELIEF PADS, FIRST AID CREAM OR OTHER MINOR FIRST AID SUPPLIES ONLY. STAFF IS NOT MEDICALLY TRAINED TO PROVIDE FIRST RESPONDER DUITES.
