Hi, I'm looking for a female backing vocalist for 3 upcoming release shows -- 2 singles, and then an EP release. Paid gigs. My music is somewhat moody/dark material ranging from acoustic singer-songwriter to indie rock. Think White Lies, Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright, Portishead. Between that and other creative projects I definitely don't have the time necessary to lead a 9-person crew anymore. But.... I've already paid a publicist (ditto an animator, see above) to get press for the new EP. And yet... no matter how much money you pay, press won't give you the time of day without shows lined up. Therefore, I'm doing a few low key shows as my required sacrifice to the holy paparazzi.🙂 $50 per rehearsal, $200 per gig. (If you think you're not good enough for a paid gig, that could be a sign you are good enough. Because people get good by telling themselves they need to be better. It's almost a Newtonian law.)
