Description

We are a Tampa based wedding and event planning company looking for a #2, right hand, go-to person. We operate on a ‘there is no job too big or small we won’t do’ attitude. I am looking for someone who shares the same mindset, wants to learn about the wedding and event industry, and can help me with day to day tasks so I can keep growing the business. Here is what we are looking for: Desired personality traits- positive, excited, patient, reliable, honest, intuitive, loyal, energetic, discretionary, have a strong desire to help, able to take initiative, can follow directions and work independently or with a team. I can teach you the business/ skills behind wedding planning, but if the brides’s grandma is struggling to get down the stairs and you’re just watching her instead of offering to help, I can’t teach you good manners. Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following - business administration, marketing, management, interior design, communications, graphic design, logistics & planning, public relations Must reside in the Tampa/ St Pete area and are open to traveling domestically and internationally You understand that planning and executing weddings and events are not always glamorous, pretty or fun. We spend a LOT of time in an office, in front of the computer, on the phone and at meetings with clients and vendors. On the day of you will not be drinking champagne during cocktail hour or getting your hair and makeup done. Wedding days are long, hard work and you will be tired afterwards. My goal is to have you learn how to plan a wedding from start to end in 6 months and being able to execute one on your own in a year or less. You will need to be patient during this training process and do a LOT of listening and not as much doing during the first few months. You will literally be working right next to me. I will open my inbox and explain to you what’s going on in the planning process. We’ll review timelines, floor plans, production and staffing schedules, design decks. You’ll come to every meeting possible and at first your only job there will be to LISTEN, and you can ask me as many questions once its over. This is an entry level, part time (20 hours/ week) position and you must be able to come work next to me at my office in Hyde Park. If we have an event to execute, those can be additional hours for the week so flexible WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST, especially from Oct- April. If you are the right fit this position has the opportunity to grow into full time. Compensation starts at $15/hr If you’ve made it this far and are interested in learning more about us, please share your resume along with a special skill you have that you think would be useful for this position. Looking forward to hearing from you!
