Job Description - Packaging Assistants Job Title: Packaging Assistant Reports to: Packaging Lead Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt Hours: Full-Time, M-F, 9 AM-5 PM Location: On-Site, St. Paul, MN Date Effective: July 21, 2021 Hourly Rate: $14.00 Contact: Send cover letter & resume to Lori Morris, HR Director HiBAR Mission: Inspire the removal of single use plastic from everyday life by beautifully redesigning personal care products. Job Overview: The Packaging Assistant is the final piece of our manufacturing process to supply high quality HiBAR products to our customers. In this role the incumbent is primarily responsible for carrying inventory from stock shelves, completing assembly line wrapping, creating cardboard boxes, and finalizing the packaging process. This process effectively moves inventory on a FIFO (First In First Out) basis. Teamwork, consistency, repetitive tasks, speed, accuracy and attention to detail are critical to meet the specificified orders of our wholesale and individual customers. Duties and Responsibilities: The following is not an exhaustive list of the duties of the position; rather, it is a broad description of the work and major performance requirements. This Job Description is subject to change at anytime in support of the company’s goals. Assist in packaging products in a team setting. Follow established guidelines related to speed, and damage-free techniques. Follow priorities as directed by the Lead to ensure delivery dates are met. Follow established quality control, batch coding, and Good Manufacturing Practices Learn and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). Learn how to safely operate departmental machinery. Help keep the department area clean and organized. Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels of finished product. Be available to cross-train and work in fulfillment as directed Skills and Qualifications: Ability to remain focused on repetitive tasks Ability to work as part of a team Excellent hand dexterity Detail oriented; ability to follow specific instructions and counts for each order Willingness and ability to take direction as well as work independently Ability to see problems and communicate these to the Lead Able to learn from mistakes Desire to be part of a fast-paced working environment Ability to stand or sit for up to 8 hours per day at a high level table, lift 30lbs and work around strong scents and soap ingredients.
