BETTA FISH & GOURAMI FOR ADOPTION
Events
Colorado Springs CO
Description
I've been rehabilitating four Bettas and a Gourami, the bettas have been with me for quite some time, the gourami just arrived but I don't have the space. Their pictures are labeled and info provided :) Nanaki's been here for 9 1/2 months, making him 1 yr and 2 1/2 months old! He arrived skinny but with no serious issues. He's still healing his fins and has missing scales on his head from a fight w/ another Betta. Since then he's been quite the funny guy here in the fish room but we're unable to care for him long term. He's personable, active, likes to flare and works well with snails and ghost shrimp but has never been housed with other tankmates. Dotty's been here for 7 months, making her 8 months and a week old! She arrived extremely emaciated with holes in her fins and a back deformity due to undernourishment. It took her awhile to finally gain enough strength, weight, and to fix her back issue but she's now fully healed, happy, silly, personable, and has a giant personality in her little dwarf body! She's never been one for flaring and may be a great candidate for a community tank. Ginseng's been here for 5 1/2 months, making him 1 yr and 1 1/2 months old. He arrived with the worst positive buoyancy disorder (aka 'swimbladder') cases I've seen. Although he overcame this issue, he has special dietary needs and must avoid bloodworms, freeze-dried foods and flakes. Pellets need to be soaked beforehand. With this comes his severe aggression to tankmates, stunning coloration, and cool personality. Amaryllis has been here for 4 months, making him 10 months old. He arrived with a horrible case of fin rot that sadly seems chronic. Because of this it's suggested to house him only with invertebrates - snails specifically, as he has never had contact with other species. The water must be kept pristine and tannins are suggested. Although he has issues, Amaryllis is active, personable, silly, and doesn't let his painful condition slow him down! Lastly is the blue Three-Spot Gourami who's been here for about 3 days, he may be around 5-6 months old. He's personable but other than that, I don't know anything about him as he was simply dropped off at my door without notice. Because of his species, he likely lived in a community tank. The bettas require a minimum of 5 gallons but because of his potential size, the gourami needs at least 20 gallons. Live plants are a bonus and a large variety of high-protein foods is a double bonus! If interested in adopting, email me with a picture or description of your tank. Pickup in the Springs or meet me in Monument. Thanks for reading!
