Urgent: Rehoming sweet cat with FIV

My mother-in-law was just moved into a memory care facility in Atlanta and cannot keep her cat, Nikki. Nikki is a sweet and pretty girl, about 2 years old. She's shy at first but then warms up to her people. Nikki is FIV+. From what I understand, transmission to other cats in a household is rare but it can happen—so unless you have another FIV+ cat, you will want Nikki to be your one and only. I wanted to take Nikki, but we have three cats (and a dog!) already. We're afraid if we bring Nikki to a shelter, she will be euthanized immediately due to her FIV+ status.
