The Tool Maker is responsible to manufacture tooling to make products that
meets established criteria, as well as offer input and perform tasks for tooling design and
modifications.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
1. Manufacture components within the given tolerance of tool drawings.
2. Assemble tooling components within guidelines of the design concept.
3. Maintain tooling to meet production requirements.
4. Properly document and forward modifications of tooling.
5. Understand and follow established ISO procedures and work instructions
SECONDARY DUTIES:
1. As defined by the Tool Room Supervisor.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Position reports to Tool Room Supervisor
2. Positions reporting to this position: none
3. Required internal interface/relationship with: Engineering, Product Development,
Production, Sales, Quality Departments
4. Required external interface/relationships with vendors, suppliers
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Level of education required: High school diploma; completed tool
maker/apprenticeship training
2. Minimum previous experience: 5 years as a Tool Maker
SKILLS:
1. Working knowledge of dying build standards
2. Working knowledge of design standards
3. Blueprint reading
4. Tool Room documentation process
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills
6. Proficiency with required measure equipment
7. Understanding of Tool Build routers
8. Master of tool mount and fit process
9. Master of tool troubleshooting techniques
10. Working knowledge of ISO procedures pertaining to the position
