Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Grounds Maintenance Technicians. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway and facilities maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. The position will support locations in the Hillsboro, Pasco, & Hernando, FL area. Responsibilities: Performs regular and directed grounds and landscape maintenance at highway rest areas by mowing with riding or push mowers; trimming and edging around trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, sidewalks and buildings; weeding, thinning and cleaning flower beds and other grounds by hand or utilizing proper tools and equipment; and setting. Performs routine litter removal and assures grounds are aesthetically pleasing and conform to FDOT standards at all times. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Experience: Roadway maintenance experience MOT Certifications Clean driving record is essential Must pass criminal background check Qualifications: Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing) Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations Carry out simple arithmetic functions Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology Ability to use smart phone and applications Ability to adjust to changing work schedule Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required Ability to operate hand/power tools Schedule: Full time; Day shift, Monday through Friday. Must be able to work nights and weekends as required.
