PARENTS PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS when searching for child care, as there are definite advantages to choosing licensed child care providers for your children. They are regulated by the State of Hawaii, everyone in the home has passed fingerprint and background check, and they are First Aid/CPR certified. Not to mention they are more likely to provide a more enriching environment for your child and are limited to reasonable adult to child ratio. If someone is already watching more than two children unrelated to them without a license, they are possibly operating illegally and could be shut down at a moment’s notice. Moreover, non-registered (licensed) providers have no state oversight and may not meet the basic safety and health requirements you and your children should expect.
