Summary: The role of residential Handyman is responsible for the day-to-day building maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment. The handyman will coordinate and complete all requested work, assign priorities, and follow up on completion. Classification: Non-exempt (eligible for overtime), Non-Union Essential functions/Responsibilities: duties include but are not limited to the following - Performs routine maintenance work and makes repairs to properties as needed, including light plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, light electrical - Works closely with Property Manager/ Superintendent who will help coordinate tasks - Coordinates with tenants to set times to access apartments to make repairs - Repair of walkways and exteriors - Efficiently manages incoming service requests - On-call to respond to tenant requests and issues - Tracks time and logs activities and the work completed for each job - Completes renovation projects as needed - Performs high-quality work with attention to detail Requirements: - Minimum 2 years’ experience with a successful track record as maintenance tech/handyman - High School diploma or GED preferred. - Experienced and knowledgeable in construction and maintenance - Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions - Able to handle a wide variety of repairs (including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.) - Good at troubleshooting and problem solving - Must possess strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with residents, staff, and vendors to ensure the safe operations of buildings. - Has a reliable vehicle to travel around to property locations is a must - travel allowance provided - Able to work occasional Saturdays (when needed) - flexible - Owns all tools needed for general handyman tasks- is a PLUS Benefits: - We pay 100% of medical benefits, for employee only.
