PORTER FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE FOR COMMERCIAL BUILDING (PART- TIME & FULL-TIME) Located in Flushing, New York Position Overview: The Porter is responsible for keeping the property clean, minor maintenance and landscaping, making sure the property is in good standing. The primary goal of this position is to provide attention to the appearance of common areas for a safe and adequate living/working environment. Shifts: 8am - 4pm 4pm - 12am Requirements: - Must be fluent in English, Spanish/Chinese a plus. - Must have good communication skills and be punctual. - Experience sweeping, mopping, washing and waxing hallways, floors and stairs. - Experience vacuuming and using floor polishers. - Experience in power washing loading docks. - Knowledge in janitorial duties and small repairs. - Experience in emptying compactors and trashcans. - Experience in clearing snow and ice from sidewalks and driveways *as needed* - Keeping good relations with resident owners, tenants and staff. - Must be extremely detail oriented. - Self-motivated and proactive. - Handyman experience is a plus - Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have black pants and black work boots. Work shirts will be given after successful completion of the first week on job. Must be legally allowed to work in the United States.
