IPOWRS is the name of the band; acronym I guess, technically: Irani Punk Old World Rap Stars Where east meats vest…coast Ver di old verld meets noo Fat rich distorted guitar tones layed down over hip hop beats Spoken word and melodic lyrics unashamed to get political, in cipher when necessary Balkan melodies dance in the mind and soul Sometimes edgy, sometimes soft, sometimes hard, sometimes happy I grew up on Persian traditional music and classic rock, and 80s pop, 80s “hard” rock, 80s rap. My vision of happiness is where these all intersect while making music with a band on a similar frequency and wavelength. I envision a 3 or 4 piece band to start.
