Summary Boulder B-cycle is seeking applicants for full- and part-time field technician positions (20-40 hours per week) to participate in the daily operation of Boulder’s bike-sharing system. Field technicians will primarily be responsible for the redistribution of Boulder B-cycles between bike sharing stations, and for exchanging spent e-bike batteries with charged ones. Boulder B-cycle field technicians report to the Boulder B-cycle shop but work primarily around the city using a small box truck or van. Applicants for this position should have a valid driver’s license and good driving record, be willing to work outdoors in all kinds of weather lifting and moving bicycles and station components, and support the bikes as a mode of transportation. Responsibilities -Relocate B-cycles between stations using Boulder B-cycle’s box trucks or vans -Exchange spent batteries on B-cycle Electric bikes, stations, and docks -Monitor station performance using Boulder B-cycle’s computers and mobile devices -Restart station computers and perform light technical work as needed -Assist in station disassembly, relocation, and assembly -Clean stations and perform touch-up painting -Perform informal customer service while maintaining stations and bikes Qualifications In order to execute the responsibilities of the Part-Time Field Technician, applicants should: -Have a working knowledge of Boulder’s layout, streets, and geography and the skill to drive and park box trucks and vans in traffic in a safe and prudent manner -Be comfortable working alone to meet the needs of the system and the Boulder B-cycle team -Be able to analyze system needs based on real-time web-based apps, anticipate short-term needs of the system, and distribute bikes accordingly -Be familiar with or quickly able to learn the Google suite of products (specifically Mail, Hangouts, Calendar, and Drive), as well as Slack -Be willing to work outdoors in inclement (rain, wind, snow) weather -Be able to work while standing for extended periods -Be able to repeatedly lift bicycles weighing 55 pounds to a height of no less than 36” Compensation These positions are either part- or full-time (20-40 hours per week) with starting pay of $15.00-$16.50/hour (depending on experience). Positions are available immediately and until filled.
