We are Absolute Pursuit a three piece original rock band from south OP (guitar/vox, bass, and drums) looking to expand our line up with a keyboardist or another guitarist, preferably one that can sing as well. We're a serious band with original material written that is in the process of being recorded, so we are looking for other serious musicians. This means you want to be a career musician that's willing to put band before work and school, and be able to practice/record multiple times a week, and travel out of town for gigs. We already have gigs lined up for out of town so we'd like to start getting together soon. We are looking for people aged 18-25 who is highly capable on their instrument, is able to improvise in a solo/comp and jam context extremely well, and know basic theory like the modes, odd times, and key modulations and chord changes. We practice in south Overland Park at our drummers place. Our sound blends psychedelic jams with hard rocking riffs and catchy songwriting. Influences: Led Zeppelin, Sabbath, Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, Alice in Chains, Sound Garden, Metallica, Motorhead, RHCP, RATM, Tool, Phish, John Mayer, Ty Segall, King Gizzard, Jim Croce, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, The Police, Santana, Animals As Leaders, Polyphia, Budgie, CYSN, moe., The Doors, Clapton, Hendrix, Sleep, The Beatles, Can, Return to Forever, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Willie Nelson, Death Grips, Kanye, Chick Corea, Vulfpeck, Rush, Mastodon, Zappa, SRV, ect.
