Where are the bands & music in Youngstown? I am thinking of putting a band together, there just are not many out there. Only one really good band that I know of ( and they are older, but excellent)., not sure what happened to the others. The rest use backing tracks or act like goof balls on the stage with their jumping up & down, or look like bums that just got off of work. I have yet to see anyone else good. So, if you are a veteran player who knows what it takes, maybe give it a try. We can go 2 directions: 1. just be another $500 a night dive bar band and dress in baggy jeans (lol) play local over & over...& that is it. (simple) 2. Be a better band, dress up have some stage persona, good equipment, charge more, & be versatile enough to play some out of town gigs if the money is right. Put on a show, play the songs people want to hear, but not the same ones that the other few are playing. Kind of sad when you look back when Youngstown was a golden era for music. ( Left End, Glass Harp, LAW, Blue Ash, Lazer, Coconut, Lavie, Sojourn, Southwind, Starburst, Freeman Sound, Rotti Kazooti, Poobah, Flashbacks, The Five Sensations ( not who they are today, that's a backing track joke). I guess I could go on, but the point is made. If interested, let me know. I am looking to work as an agent or sound at this time. I can do the booking, so email if interested.
