Please be advised this is a live-in position. Rooted Life is an independent living facility, providing a tranquil environment incorporating gardens and animal care into structured daily living. We provide support and guidance to individuals who may benefit from the fellowship of a communal housing environment. This is a transitional housing where clientele learns basic life skills to prepare them for a life living on their own. Rooted Life takes pride in supporting individuals throughout this transition into a vibrant independent life. As a Live-In Resident Advisor for Rooted Life, you will be a positive influence and have the ability to empower others. Your role is to provide guidance and emotional support to residents, while modeling the Rooted Life values of community, comfort and growth. You’ll be there to facilitate breakfast, dinner, and supervise evenings, with free time during the day. Rooted Life offers 2 weeks PTO, relevant tuition sponsorship, opportunities for advancement, and a supportive work community. Major Responsibilities: ● Complete admission/intake procedures for new clients including all paperwork, room assignments, and initial orientation ● Manage house budget effectively and accurately. ● Ensure all clients follow program guidelines and rules. Conduct property searches of clients as required by program standards. ● Lead by example in healthy home life skills (chores, cooking schedule), and assign life skills tasks to residents on a rotating schedule. ● Ensure the home is clean everyday to Rooted Life standards (checklist will be provided). ● Provide appropriate crisis intervention to residents in the form of emotional support and/or problem solving as deemed necessary. ● Identify a crisis, be able to redirect clients when applicable, and/or carry out emergency procedures as needed, complete incident reports and communicate professionally with emergency personnel ● Document any resident issues in the Weekly Client Information Log, noting current state of residents, problems, and any incidents / information of note. Cross-reference with the Client Log sheets. Contact appropriate staff via email and phone if needed to report issues and/or incidents. ● Attend suggested meetings, training and educational workshops. ● Maintain weekly reports on resident behaviors, medication compliance, hospital visits, program attendance and life skills progress. ● Understand and maintain policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate client boundaries and client confidentiality. Position Requirements: ● Willingness to live on site in a communal housing environment, providing guidance and support to residents, while ensuring compliance of the holistic Rooted Life program. ● Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff. ● Ability to prepare for, and facilitate specialty programs. ● Possess a sense of compassion for others and great listening skills. ● Skilled in mediation and conflict resolution (hello, all mothers!). ● Experience working in healthcare, social work, case management, recovery and/or mental illness, lived experience is a plus. ● Own car and cell phone. ● Personal computer or laptop. ● Must provide a current criminal background check, completed within the last 6 months. ● Must complete and pass a drug test prior to offer of employment.
