The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank is currently hiring a Warehouse Receiver to perform a variety of routine to moderately difficult responsible and specialized administrative and program-related duties in support of the Food Bank's operations; including safe, timely, and accurate receipt of items ordered and placed in specified areas of the warehouse. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Under the direct supervision of the North County Food Bank Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Receiver's primary responsibilities and duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this position. Evaluate order invoices, ensuring the correct quantities of items Verify that quantities on Purchase Order match invoice and bill of lading Schedule all inbound appointments Collaborate with appropriate parties, daily, to review tasks, expected deliveries, and safety measures Process OSNDs in a timely manner Fill out labels or hold tags as necessary Rotate and organize inventory per company procedures Receive shipments and ensure authorized signature upon receipt Unload deliveries from trucks and inspect contents to ensure deliveries are not damaged, verified according to orders and invoices and ensure only authorized product is delivered and received Maintain accurate documentation for all billed invoices. Scan, email, and photocopy documents as required Work with Inventory Control to ensure check inventory levels and place orders with suppliers as needed Contact supplier or shipper to resolve any issues Follow all work and food safety rules and procedures Maintain professional conduct at all times Other duties as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate has: Education/Training: graduation from high school or high school diploma; and at one year of warehouse experience in the food service/warehouse operations/inventory management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid California driver’s license Bilingual, a plus Forklift Certified, Certified Forklift Trainer, preferred Knowledge of Warehouse receiving procedures Plan, organize and assist in directing the logistics operations of a complex department Understand, interpret, explain and apply SDFB policies and procedures. Operate a computer utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, databases, and standard office equipment. Analyze complex warehouse and inventory management operational and administrative problems; evaluate alternatives and recommend or implement effective course of action. Organize, set priorities and exercise sound independent judgment. Customer Service / Relations Ability to Work in a fast-paced environment and multitask under pressure Maintain accurate and detailed records Strong interpersonal communication skills Strategic planning and analysis skills. Must be able to work independently. Must be a creative, forward, positive thinker and team-oriented. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information regarding the company, products, and employee information. Train employees in work processes and procedures. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Develop and implement appropriate goals, objectives, policies, procedures, work standards and management controls. Prepare clear, concise and comprehensive correspondence, reports, studies and other written materials. Exercise sound, expert independent judgment and initiative within general policy guidelines. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management, stakeholders, employees, vendors, suppliers and others encountered in the course of the work. Exercise tact, objectivity, sensitivity, strategy, and sound judgment in dealing with people. . WORK SCHEDULE: Days and hours of work are Monday - Friday from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (30 minute unpaid lunch break) This position does not regularly require OT or weekend shift hours. COMPENSATION This is a full-time, hourly position and the pay rate will be $16.00-$17.00 per hour depending on experience.
