St. David of Wales Episcopal Church has an opening for a part-time, non-exempt Facilities Manager in Portland, Oregon. About Us: We are an open and affirming church. As the Facilities Manager, you will support the mission of Saint David of Wales Episcopal Church by providing day-to-day support in the care and maintenance of the building and grounds. You will conduct yourself in a professional manner, providing helpful and courteous support to staff, congregants, and visitors in the execution of your responsibilities. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring all tenants of the Church abide by facility rules and regulations. You will report to the Parish Administrator. Specific Duties: * Maintains buildings and equipment to provide effective operations. * Performs routine repairs (Light bulbs, painting, plumbing issues etc.) * Coordinates efforts with Junior Warden * Documents ongoing and completed work in tracking document provided by Parish Administrator * Works with Building Committee and supervises contractor activity * Establishes and oversees seasonal maintenance of all equipment (HVAC, etc.) * Provides routine surveillance throughout the facilities to identify and document deficiencies * Maintains a cost-effective inventory of supplies within budgetary guidelines * Coordinates with Janitorial Services to ensure cleanliness of building is maintained * Acts as primary responder to security alarm calls * Safety * Conducts all maintenance in compliance with industry standard HSE requirements (ie. wears proper PPE, practices proper chemical handling, etc.) * Maintains information binder regarding emergency systems * Oversees annual safety checks (fire extinguisher, sprinkler system, fire alarm, etc.) * Accompanies all inspectors (fire, insurance, etc.) on rounds What are we looking for? * Previous maintenance, custodial, and/or facilities experience * Strong mechanical aptitude and repair experience * Ability to schedule, organize, and manage projects and staff * Prior supervisory experience desirable * Ability to work safely with machinery and equipment requiring considerable caution Working Conditions: This position requires frequent lifting, standing for long periods, and potential exposure to climate changes and temperature changes. Schedule: This part-time position is 10 hrs per week. You will occasionally need to work nights and weekends. The regular schedule will be decided by mutual agreement.
