Veterans Ocean Adventures in coordination with Deco Divers is offering a FREE SCUBA DIVE boat trip for Veterans. Veterans Ocean Adventures in coordination with Deco Divers is offering a FREE SCUBA DIVE boat trip for Veterans and adaptive veteran divers on Sunday 27 June 2021. Divers will have the opportunity to discover some of the many reefs and wrecks off of the coast of Miami Beach. This will be a two tank ocean dive. Departure time is 08:00 AM sharp returning approximately 12:30 PM. Please arrive one hour earlier for logistics, paperwork and buddy assignments. All participants must be Veterans (Military ID, DD 214, VA Veteran ID required) and certified divers (PADI, NAUI, HSA). Tanks are included. Note: all divers are expected to tip the boat crew 15-20% of the normal dive charter fee as is customary. Additional COVID requirements: While COVID restrictions are being lowered, especially for outdoor events, we encourage participants to be vacinated. If you are in the the high risk category and not vaccinated you need to assess your own risk factors and decide if the risk outweighs the reward. First we are limiting the number of participants to 20 veterans and staff. Spread out on the boat as much as possible. Frequent hand washing though out the charter as you move about the boat and touch rails, handles and other surfaces. Bring your own water - at least two full 16 oz water bottles. If on the day of the dive, you are feeling sick at all (even sniffles) STAY HOME If you dove with us before please show your support for our organization by wearing your Veterans Ocean Adventures T-shirt. Please present your SCUBA Certification Card at check-in. This event is for veterans and adaptive divers only, sorry no friends or family members. Please go to Tarpoon Lagoon Dive Center if rental SCUBA equipment is needed. Please show by 0730 with completed paperwork, check in and loading. Boat departs the dock at 0800 sharp. Vision Create an opportunity for disabled veterans to experience open ocean sailing, offshore cruising and scuba diving through collaboration with community partners including the Miami VA and Miami Vet Center. Once participants have completed the Introduction to Water Sports program and express a desire to advance to blue water sailing, Veterans Ocean Adventures provides an introduction to cruising in the Florida Keys and the Bahamas.
