Up until January 20, 2021, it seemed America was spiraling out of control. America has always looked to its leaders to set a tone for our collective morality. When you have a leader for four agonizing years like Trump who clearly lacks ethics and any sense of morality or civility, one can say that America was spiraling out of control. But the electorate recognized that Trump did not represent what America has always strived to be: a nation of hope, promise and opportunity. And that’s why Trump lost in a landslide. His followers ought to realize that he is nothing more than a spoiled and lazy narcissist with a low IQ and deeply flawed character who is constantly pandering to a base that is generally racist, homophobic and living in the past. Fortunately, America has righted the ship and is now back on track. Biden is not perfect. No leader is perfect for everyone. But Biden and Harris represent far more what this country is about than Trump and Pence ever did. One only need to look what Trump said and did on January 6th to realize his whole Presidency was about feeding his massive ego so he could stay in power. He’s even deluded himself and millions of his followers into believing he’ll be reinstated, a fantasy by a man whose whole life has been a fantasy where hard work and having moral conviction mean so little.
