In community with Connective Inc., join this back-to-school parent prep for educational justice + legacy.
Belonging is a multi-tiered approach, particularly in private independent schools.
On Martha's Vineyard, August 20, RIISE is thrilled to continue to network for educational excellence in community with Connective Inc., the visionaries that bring us Battle in The Bluffs! Together, we'll bring parents up to speed with the cultural & racial challenges we face in schools today and teach them the language of how to hold schools accountable, just in time for the new school year!
Over the years, and in partnership with school leadership and allies, parents of Black & Brown children have leveraged social and cultural capital to shift school cultures
to ensure the social and emotional well-being of our children, and accountability for curricular dexterity, responsibility, and historical truthThis 'parent prep' will be an added resource to the challenges ahead that work to tamp down mission-aligned efforts for schools to become more equitable, inclusive, and just.
Regardless of educational choice, we offer parents on The Vineyard the opportunity to dialogue and practice how to survive, thrive, and impact learning environments for good.
Thank you to our supporters: Riverdale Country School, Horace Mann School, Ethical Culture Fieldston School, Westover School, St. George's School, Foxcroft School
P.S. - The Evolution of Sisterhood @Winnetu is the day before, Thursday, August 19! RSVP here - https://riisemv21.eventbrite.com
