Annual Excellence in Journalism Awards Gala Join us in celebrating 63 years of the excellence in journalism in New Orleans. This year's awards will begin with a welcome reception at 6 p.m., which will also feature the musical stylings of New Orleans songstress Vegas Cola, followed by dinner and awards at 7 p.m. At this year's awards gala, we will honor Walt Handlesman and Nancy Parker.  This event is cocktail attire. $16 valet parking is available on site. 6 p.m. – Cocktail hour   7 p.m. – Dinner and awards ceremony  10 p.m. – After Party on the Rooftop The Press Club of New Orleans is composed of journalists, journalism educators and public relations professionals dedicated to improving the professional skills of people in our industry.
