LYFE Line Teen Summit is a FREE 3-Day program for youth ages 12-17, to learn the power of youth choices while engaging in fun activities. The Louisiana Center for Health Equity (LCHE) and BREC are hosting the third annual LYFE Line Teen Summit for ages 12 to 17. The 2021 LYFE Line Teen Summit is returning and will be back in person this year! This year's summit is entitled “Stop the Cap: Real Conversations about Real LYFE.” Last year it was held virtually due to the COVID – 19 pandemic restrictions and had an amazing turnout. The Teen Summit will be held on Wednesday, July 28 through Friday, July 30 at the BREC Milton J. Womack Recreation Center located at 6201 Florida Blvd. in Baton Rouge. Doors will open daily at 8:00 A.M. for “early bird” drop off with the summit beginning at 9:00 A.M. Parents are responsible for drop off and pick up. Pick up is from 5:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. daily. Interactive and informative sessions will include discussions on life skills and goals, college and vocational readiness, sexual risk avoidance, community safety and violence prevention, youth advocacy, financial literacy and more. Teens will also have an opportunity to explore a number of topics of interest to them and will present at a mock Town Hall. In between the workshops, teens will experience outdoor games provided by BREC on the Geaux and other fun activities that will have the teens returning for more! If selected to participate a parent's or legal guardian's consent via signature on a persmission form will be required.
