Nature play is a child-led, hands-on activity that encourages children to explore their senses while being immersed in nature.
Head to the Bald Head Island Conservancy for a nature play program geared towards children aged one to four. Nature play is a child-led, hands-on activity that encourages children to explore their senses while being immersed in nature. Children will join us for a short story time and then head outside (weather permitting) for hands-on play inside our nature bins, inspired by the natural environment of Bald Head Island. Parents will also get the opportunity to learn about the benefits nature play and the positive effects it has on early childhood development.
Held at the BHI Conservancy. Recommended for ages one through four. Parents must occupy children at no additional fee. $10/child (free for a limited time!).

The Bald Head Island Conservancy is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1983. It is located in a unique area within the Smith Island Complex which includes Bald Head, Middle, and Bluff Islands, all of which are bounded by the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Conservancy sponsors and facilitates scientific research that benefits coastal communities and provides numerous recreational and educational activities to the public. In coordination with various organizations, partnerships and collaborations, the Conservancy has led the nation in conservation and research efforts and is uniquely poised to become a leader in Barrier Island Conservation world-wide.
