Learn how to make the cutest hedgehog cake from one of our incredible cake decorators! On Wednesday, August 4, we're hosting an IN-PERSON Cake & Wine Night at McLain's Bakery! Our cake decorators will teach you how to decorate the cutest hedgehog cake. Wine and delicious snacks will also be provided. Tickets are $85/person and include everything you'll need for the evening. You must be 21 or older to participate, space is limited, so purchase your ticket soon. See you there! OUR STORY McLain’s Bakery was founded by the McLain family in 1945 and operated on Wornall Road under their ownership until the early 2000's. The bakery became popular during the 50's and 60's and continued to have lines out the door for many decades.  The main attractions were the famous Chocolate Cup Cookie, Butter Roll, and the ever popular German Chocolate Coffee Cake. The bakery was moved to its current location, at Gregory and Grand, in 2011. In March of 2014, a local family took over ownership of the 70 year old business with its rich history in mind.  The owners are hoping to bring McLain's back to what it used to be. Lines out the door and memories of great service and great baked goods for the next generations to come. In the past year, we have added multiple other menu lines from hot breakfast sandwiches, to muffins and croissants. We are proud of everything that we have added and want to be THE place to stop for all your breakfast and baked goods items!
