SOUTH FLORIDA — Four South Florida residents have claimed various Florida Lottery prizes in recent weeks. Three players — Odalys Alfonso, 54, of Miami; Elgin Jones, 58, of Deerfield Beach; and Aida De Pena of Boynton Beach — each claimed a $1 million top prize from THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000 scratch-off game. Alfonso claimed her prize at the Florida Lottery district office in Miami, while Elgin claimed his at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee and De Pena claimed her prize at the West Palm Beach district office. Alfonso purchased her winning ticket from Asturias Liquors & Lounge at 4687 West Flagler Street in Miami. Jones purchased his winning ticket from Publix at 150 South Federal Hwy. in Deerfield Beach. De Pena purchased her winning ticket from Publix at 133 North Congress Ave. in Boynton Beach. Each retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket. THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000, a $30 game, launched in February 2020 and features 155 top prizes of $1 million and more than $948 million in cash prizes! The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.79. Howard Tenen, 70, of Plantation also claimed the first top prize from the $5,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE scratch-off game at the Miami district office. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $4.66 million. Tenen purchased his winning ticket from Publix at 225 South Flamingo Road in Plantation. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket. Players have a chance to win more than $165.6 million in total cash prizes with the new $5,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE scratch-off game. The $10 ticket offers four top prizes of $5,000 a week for life and the overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.35.
