LONG BEACH, NY — Summer is a tough time for maintaining the blood supply as many are on vacation. To help with the deficit, the city of Long Beach is offering its annual blood drive on July 29. It is scheduled for the Magnolia Center from 2 p.m to 8 p.m. to assist the New York Blood Center. Each person that donates could save up to three lives, the city said on its Facebook page. To make an appointment call 516-478-5023 or you can register online by choosing from available 15-minute intervals.
