Join the AU Brewing Science Department in downtown St. Pete for an afternoon filled with food and Auburn spirit! Cliff Notes: BBQ Buffet, Beer Tasting (led by AU Brewing Science dept head and colleague), Shuffleboard, opportunities for great Auburn swag such as a Bo Jackson autographed 16x20 print (with PSA/DNA authentication) and potentially even a custom made Auburn fishing rod. This is our pre-football season kickoff event! If you've been to our watch parties or our Outback Bowl tailgate, you know we love Auburn spirit. There will be plenty, with our AU flags flying high over Central Ave! This is the perfect event to connect with those you’ll be joining at Ferg’s, just two weeks later! All proceeds go to a GREAT cause as we continue to build AU spirit here locally and fund scholarship awards for local students headed to the Plains. More Details: We are thrilled to announce that Martin A. O'Neill (PhD) from AU’s Brewing Science program, and his colleague, will be joining us in beautiful downtown St. Pete on August 21st from 1-4pm! We'll be outdoors, under rooftop (rain or shine event) for a very fun afternoon filled with much Auburn spirit! Urban Brew and BBQ is the perfect fit for this Auburn gathering. We’ll have a BBQ buffet, safely served by staff, consisting of BBQ pork, chicken, brisket, 4 delicious sides, and a salad option! We’ve also reserved a couple shuffleboard courts onsite for a friendly ‘tourney' - makes for great way to mingle. In addition to beer tastings, where the AU team will walk us through the brewing process and the differences between 5 types of local beers, they’ll also be sharing details on AU’s excellent (and growing) Brewing Science program! Where it is today and where it’s going. You can expect a VERY fun afternoon, whether you sample a beer or opt out of that particular portion. Anyone and everyone is invited! We even have AU friends in Orlando who we hope will join us! Your non-AU friends are of course welcome if they’re into BBQ and fun. Simply give them a heads up we’ll be sharing some AU traditions with them! [queue Bodda Getta] We want our events to radiate ‘AU Family’. Events where you can walk in solo and quickly realize your family from the Plains has you a seat saved. Getting to know local alumni and fans through this event will continue to facilitate our Auburn Family goal. WDE!
