Description
CHELMSFORD, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will be implementing nightly lane closures this week on I-495 northbound and southbound between the Westford and Chelmsford town line and the Route 110 interchange in Chelmsford.
The lane closures began Sunday night and will continue through Friday morning. Work will take place between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
These traffic impacts, which are part of a $5.7 million project set to be completed in August 2023, will allow crews to safely perform pavement milling and resurfacing operations on a 3.4 mile section of I-495.
Traffic control measures, including police details, will be in place during the lane closures. Drivers should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
For traffic updates, MassDOT encourages travelers to do the following:

Visit www.mass511.com, a website which provides real-time traffic and incident advisory information, access to traffic cameras, and allows users to subscribe to text and email alerts for traffic conditions.
