Description
GLEN COVE, NY — National Night Out, a nationwide community-building campaign focused on raising awareness about crime and drug prevention, will take place in Glen Cove on Tuesday, Aug. 3.
Back for its 14th year, Glen Cove's National Night Out will bring together neighbors and law enforcement officials in an effort to boose neighborhood pride and garner support for local anti-crime programs.
The event will take place in front of the Glen Cove Police Department on Bridge Street from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be free tours of the police department, TASER and police equipment demonstrations by officers, Operation Safe Child ID badges for kids, refreshments, music, and other activities.
"National Night Out underscores the critical relationship of our police officers with the Glen Cove community," Police Chief William Whitton said. "Safety and neighborhood unity stem from the strength of a strong relationship between our department and the community we serve and protect."
