Birdies Fore Brighten Benefit Golf Tournament at Mirror Lake Golf Course on Friday, October 22, 2021, 9:30 AM Registration/ 12 NOON Shotgun Brighten Academy Charter School (BACS) serves 800+ students in grades K - 8 in Douglas County, GA. As a non-profit public charter school, Brighten needs to bridge a $1500/per student annual funding gap which is not the case with a traditional public school. Brighten Academy Governing Board is hosting our annual fundraiser, Birdies Fore Brighten Benefit Golf tournament, on Friday October 22, 2021, at the Mirror Lake Golf Course in Villa Rica, GA. Funds from this event go to our Capital Campaign which enables us to purchase additional academic resources for our growing school, afford athletic and art program enhancements, and provide for facility updates. We are respectfully requesting your participation in our annual golf tournament. Come out and show off your golf swing, practice your golf swing, or just get to know about all the amazing things Brighten is doing for kids in Douglas County! Sponsorship opportunities are also available and outlined below. Brighten Academy's mission is "to provide a productive learning environment with a highly qualified staff committed to using an innovative, research based instructional model that produces measured growth in every student every year." We achieve this through an Expeditionary Learning approach that focuses on the whole child and goes beyond academics. Brighten utilizes the 7 - C's: Craftsmanship, Curiosity, Community, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Culture, and Commitment. This learning approach leads our students to do more than they think possible so they can contribute to building a better world.
