Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Entrance Shut Over 'Safety Concern'

JACKSON, NJ — A "safety concern" led to the shutdown of the main entrance at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor for several hours on Monday, officials said. Jackson Township police and a Six Flags spokeswoman did not give details about the safety concern, saying only that it was discovered during "a routine safety check" at the water park in Jackson. "Out of an abundance of caution, the main entrance to Hurricane Harbor was temporarily closed following a routine safety check by the Ocean County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit," park spokeswoman Kristin B. Fitzgerald said. Jackson Township police and New Jersey State Police responded and the park entrance was reopened following a thorough investigation that found nothing dangerous, officials said.
