AUSTIN, TX — Two men who died in a July 10 crash off Interstate 35 frontage road in east Austin have been identified, police said.
Charlie Jackson, 38, of Austin and David Bearden, 20, of Austin were killed after their car was hit by another around 4:21 a.m. Saturday in the 5200 block of north I-35 frontage road, police said Friday.
Authorities said the driver of a white 2021 Toyota Camry lost control and veered off the road after the car was hit by another driver.
Officials said three passengers were in the Camry plus the driver. Jackson and Bearden were both ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
A third passenger was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition. The driver of the car did flee the scene, police said.
