CONCORD, NH — Here is everything going on in New Hampshire right now. Welcome Back, Chief Brown Concord Fire Chief Sean Brown is home after about two weeks assisting search and rescue operations at the Surfside condominium collapse in Florida. Brown told NBC 10 in Boston on Sunday that running logistics at such events was like being FEMA's Swiss Army Knife. Brown, who was recently named fire chief in February, is no stranger to the work. He, along with other members of Mass. Task Force 1 Team, is often deployed to assist support rescue efforts like hurricanes and other incidents. Child Labor Law Violations A specialty grocery store in Exeter has been found to have violated child labor laws repeatedly, according to MSN.com. On the Vine Marketplace, based out of Maine, which has one New Hampshire location in Exeter, was found to have allowed employees under 16 to clean mixers and meat grinders, something that is not allowed, as well as having them work more than three hours on school days and eight hours on non-school days between Labor Day and May 31. The store operators have paid about $27,000 in fines. Top Vaccination Rate Town Speaking of Exeter, it is one of the most vaccinated towns for COVID-19, according to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. Hooksett, another example of a town where a lot of people have gotten their shots, is at 74.1 percent. Bedford Special Election The Republican National Committee's co-chairman, Thomas Hicks, was in New Hampshire over the weekend, boosting the party faithful before the mid-term elections next year, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader. Hicks also went out door-knocking in Bedford with Linda Camarota, a former state representative, who is seeking the seat formerly held by state Rep. David Danielson, who died in May. Catherine Rombeau, a Democrat, is also running. The election will be Sept. 7. Brake For Moose! The New Hampshire Fish & Game Department is reminding Granite Staters, when traveling, to brake for moose. Last year, there were 72 collisions between vehicles and moose — with an average of close to 100 crashes each year for the past five years.
