Description
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Join the community and the Manhattan Beach Police Department for National Night Out. Designed to enhance "the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community," MBPD will once again hold the annual event Tuesday, August 3, from 6-8 p.m.
MBPD and Neighborhood Watch have supported this program for many years by encouraging residents to host block parties and social events for the purpose of strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
Members of the community are encouraged to turn on their porch lights and join their neighbors, MBNW and MBPD for a "night out against crime."
In Manhattan Beach, where the tradition is deeply rooted, residents gather and host outdoor barbecues, pizza dinners, dessert stops and invite MBPD to stop in to visit, chat and eat.
In addition to officers, the police chief, captains, lieutenants, and sergeants join in and mingle at the neighborhood socials, all in the spirit of developing interactive community relations between residents and the police.
National Night Out "provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances," say National Night Out organizers.
The community is invited to fill out a registration form and return by July 20.
