Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 07/18/2021 Update:  Investigators identified and charged both suspects involved in the incident: They are identified as:  Derek Downes, DOB 2/98, Charges: Aggravated Assault, Possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony Kendall Robinson, DOB 8/00 Charges: Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony  Preliminary Information: On 7/18/21, around 8:07 pm, officers responded to 2195 Piedmont Rd NE on a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located two victims, both with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim stated he was in a verbal altercation with the suspect when the suspect fired several shots injuring both victims. One male suspect is in custody at this time. Both victims have been transported to Grady in stable condition. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident. This investigation continues.
