Hi everyone, We own pet rats and do self funded rat rescue and are just wanting to see if there is an interest in homemade rat food. We make our own grain based mix as good quality mixes are not really available in town. Kaytee products retailed in pet stores contain potentially harmful ingredients and they are the most widely sold small animal food found in big box pet stores. Our mix we feed our own kids and rescue rats is made with grain based 14-16% protein livestock feed, a low % of high quality lower protein dog kibble, and has over a dozen rat safe ingrediants added in for variety including dried pasta, grains, seeds etc. Would anyone be interested if we started making the mix in bulk?
