When you are living with type 2 diabetes, your diet is always on your mind. When you are constantly checking nutrition labels and counting carbs, it can feel extra discouraging when you do not see the numbers on the scale go down.
If you are not sure where to turn, a research study may be an option for you.
We are looking for adults ages 18 and older with type 2 diabetes who have obesity or are overweight and have been unsuccessful in achieving a healthy weight on their own. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a study drug in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
The qualifications for the study are:
- You must have type 2 diabetes and be on metformin
- You must not be taking insulin
- Your HemoglobinA1c must be between 7.0 and 10.0
- You must be willing to take an injectable medication once a week
- You must be willing to commit to participating in the study for 72 weeks
Qualified patients will receive:
- Study related care such as physical examination and laboratory tests at no cost
- Investigational medication at no cost
- Compensation for travel expenses
