Have an old collection of a friend or loved one that you have no idea what the worth is? I have been involved in the mineral industry for over ten years and have a very good idea about how the market looks and works in current times. Many old collections have great history and value to someone in the world but are very often hard to estimate, appraise or even find an actual buyer! I assist people that either would like help estimating rough value of or liquidate their collections. I am often willing to work for trade of a few nice specimens or try to make a fair offer to purchase if the party has need to clear space. I also sometimes purchase old lapidary equipment such as cabbing machines, faceting machines and rock saws. Please feel free to reach out if you believe that you have a somewhat valuable old collection and greatly need some advice as to rough wholesale and retail values. (One good thing to look for in a collection that has potential value is organization. Many collections will be stored somewhat neatly in boxes on shelves often with old labels and tags. Not all collections are labeled or have lost labels over time and I am fairly versed on identification of species/localities and am happy to assist for the right situation.) Please avoid contacting me to look at basic rock collections, petrified wood (unless it is in quantity with nice color), help with meteorite identification or basic questions on geology or how to collect.
